Members of Rockhampton Regional Development (RRD) have voted unanimously to support the proposed merger between RRD and Capricorn Tourism.
The Extraordinary General Meeting, held on Thursday 25th March, put forward three items for consideration to the members:
Chair of RRD, Mick Cranny, said he was pleased with the outcome of the vote.
“Our members have shown that they are very much in favour of this merger,” Mr Cranny said.
“It’s what our members want.”
The merger will see enhanced capabilities in attracting local, state and federal funding support for the new organisation, as well as providing a ‘one stop shop’ for all businesses in the Rockhampton Region.
Rockhampton Regional Development is currently the region's peak economic development agency, continually driving and supporting the economic growth and wellbeing of the Rockhampton Region
