The Rockhampton Region, incorporating the City of Rockhampton, Capricorn Coast and Islands, Gracemere and the historic Mount Morgan, is situated on the Tropic of Capricorn on the eastern coast of Australia.
The region covers an area of 18,300 square kilometres with a population of around 111,000 people with significant retail, health, education and administration sectors. The emerging resources, manufacturing and construction sectors will provide the drivers for continuing the region's growth and its role as part of Queensland's economic 'engine room'.
Rockhampton Regional Development is the region's peak economic development agency that continues to drive and support the economic growth and wellbeing of the Rockhampton Region.
